I would like to welcome you to the web site of the Central California Sierra Chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America.
I am proud to report that the Central California Chapter won both the SWANA International Chapter Achievement Award for the Largest Increase in Membership for 2008, with 24 new members, and the SWANA International Chapter Achievement Award for the Largest Percentage Increase in Membership for 2008 with a 20.7% increase in membership. I would like to thank all the members who assisted in the great job of member recruitment, keep up the good work.
The Central Chapter is planning on hosting a truck Road-E-O this spring in Tulare. This Road-E-O will test the driving and maneuvering skills of all kinds of refuse truck drivers as well as testing equipment mechanics knowledge. The Road-E-O is scheduled for May 2, 2009 at the Tulare Farm Show Complex. Please come out and join the fun.
The Chapter has already begun the planning process for the 2010 Western Regional Symposium which will be held in San Luis Obispo in May of 2010. If you haven't attended a Western Regional Symposium, you have missed out on a great opportunity to learn more about the Solid Waste industry and make contacts with others in your industry.
Please join us for one of our many lunch meetings, participate in the Road-E-O, or experience any of the great training opportunities SWANA makes available to its members. As you can see from our web site, there are a number of ways to join in and get the most from your SWANA membership.
