OUR MISSION: SWANA is an organization of professionals committed to advancing from solid waste management to resource management through a shared emphasis on education, advocacy, and research.

Category I – Grant H. Flint International Scholarship

The Category I Grant H. Flint International Scholarship ($5,000) is awarded by SWANA to applicants who will be graduating from high school and attending their first year of college. SWANA requires SAT/ACT/Achievement Test Scores and a letter of acceptance to an accredited institution for this application, which will be evaluated by Sierra Chapter and provided to SWANA during the nomination process. SAT/ACT/ Achievement Test Scores and a letter of acceptance to an accredited institution must be submitted per requirements set forth by SWANA International in the application forms attached.  Sierra Chapter accepts applications for scholarships in the spring. Applications are reviewed and nominations provided to SWANA by the deadline set by SWANA. 

Members are notified when applications will be accepted. Sierra Chapter looks forward to awarding scholarships in 2022 to very deserving and hard-working students who want to make a difference!
